Private Tuition

Private Tuition is bespoke and tailored to your needs.

The yacht and Instructor are there for you and your friends/family.

Areas most commonly asked for include:

• Close Quarters Boat Handling under Sail and power
• Blind (Fog) Navigation
• Advanced sail handling
• Secondary port calculations
• Intricate pilotage
• Sailing onto moorings and pontoons
• Man Overboard recovery
• Tidal update / refresher
• Anchoring

Of course if you have other areas you would like to look at we can try to help.

Each booking will be different as the Tuition will be designed around the individual needs of those onboard, and happy to have up to 3 for the fixed price of £450 a day (09:00 – 16:00), to a maximum of 5 days.

Food and accommodation are included in the price.

An ICC Assessment could also be carried out if the Tuition is over 2 days or more. This is free if you are a member of the RYA, otherwise it’s a fee of £45 to the RYA.

Pre-Flotilla Training

A private refresher course for those who would be able to partake in a flotilla holiday with confidence.

The course is usually run on board a yacht that would be similar to one you would be chartering on your flotilla holiday.

You will spend your time on the water with an instructor covering the areas of skippering, boat handling and line of sight navigation.

All of which would be required to ensure that you can complete your flotilla holiday in confidence.

Why not then add on your ICC assessment to the course so you have all the necessary paperwork ready for your holiday?

Note: For those with a RYA Day Skipper Practical Certificate, you can apply directly online with the RYA for the ICC, free to RYA members, £45.

If you do not hold a Day Skipper Certificate, I strongly recommend a 3 day bespoke course on your vessel, 2 days to prepare and train for the ICC, 3rd day exam.
